Victor keeps on sending us the latest information about OFP 2 (Thanks Victor) This time he send us a link to an OFP2 Developer Video Presentation +and also wrote a short summary about it.

Codemasters has confirmed that Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising will be released in 2009. In addition to this information, Codemasters will release tomorrow, on July 11, a new trailer on the remade OFP2website.
The german Gamestar magazine has written a very interesting preview about [/b]OFP 2[/b]. Our newsposter Deadeye was kind enough to translate some of the information that was included in the preview.
American forces are stationed to protect americans working on Skira (oil and gas companies). Without a warning the chinese army invades the island and forces the US Army to retreat. Russia is requesting american support and the USA sends the USS Iwo Jima to the conflict region. The first part of the campaign will be settled during the chinese invasion, whereas you will be part of the American intervention force in the second part.

OFP2 to be lead cover feature in August edition of PC Gamer
Helios, the Community Liaison Officer officer from Codemasters has revealed that OFP2 will be the cover story of the upcomingPC Gamer magazine.
"Hi everyone,
I know you have all been waiting patiently for more information regarding the game, and it's with pleasure that I can say that Operation Flashpoint 2 will be the lead cover feature in next months edition of PC Gamer. The magazine will be going on-sale on July 3rd, and will feature a huge in-depth article regarding what you can expect to see in the game!
It's been a long wait for everyone but you should be seeing a lot more information being released in the next few months
It will be featured in the UK, US, French editions of PC Gamer and also a well-known PC Gaming magazine in Germany."

They have just released these initial screenshots of their current work. These initial screenshots are the first of many to come while showing their progress in the new Armed Assault environment.
Recent details show that a public release is in the near future but a release date has yet to be determined. Rest assured that the group's first release is not far off!
From the group's Operation Flashpoint days, they have strived to build a MOD based on realism during the Vietnam War. It is their mission to recreate the battlefield in order to simulate the experience of being in an actual southeast asian jungle.
Faguss wrote in that he has his own website and will host his won missions! Check it out as he updates and adds content to this site. He had this to say:
